David and Shirley Witt are not first timers when it comes to providing quality guest accommodations. As former owners/operators of popular bed and breakfasts, they have established a reputation in the Midwest as outstanding hosts with an eye for style and comfort. Back in 1995, they decided it was time to try something different. Not a bed and breakfast this time, but a luxury suite designed for those seeking a private and very special break from the stress and pressures of today's life-styles.

Their search for the perfect location took them to a picturesque, quiet back road and a place they now call Briar-Cliffe. This lovely, unpretentious home sits back from a scenic bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Its backyard is the gateway to five acres of natural woods with walking trails and plenty of privacy. It's apparent the Witts have found a most peaceful setting and one that should achieve their goal.

The creativity, quality and style guests have come to associate with the Witts has now been extended into their guest suite. Antiques, rich colors, inviting patterns, textures and furnishings set an intimate and relaxing mood. The sitting room is highlighted by a fireplace and large picture window offering a view of well manicured lawns and the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Down a short hall is the bedroom with luxurious, queen-size canopied bed. To the side, a private bath with two-person whirlpool tub. To ensure your comfort, there isa small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker as well as CATV with VCR.

Outside, just past the quiet road, you'll come to the bluff. Here the view of Lake Michigan and its stretch of white, sandy beach is breathtaking. Dave and Shirley have recently built a stairway which will safely take you down to enjoy the sun, sand and clear waters.

Continuing their tradition, the Witts have again combined an excellent location with a guest suite offering quality, grace and style. A lovely place to spend some special time. Briar-Cliffe is just minutes away from downtown Saugatuck with Grand Rapids and Holland only a short drive away.
